Shop windows that show the essence of a unique brand

The Challenge

Transferring the historic façade of the “Edificio Sota” to the shop windows of Suarez jewelry stores throughout Spain. A project that required a lot of creativity and precision.

I was inspired to take on such a significant challenge: designing, producing and installing each store with its own characteristics. Spaces in which the display cases had different layouts, something that complicated the standardization of the design, making each point of sale unique.

With this proposal, Suárez not only celebrates its legacy, but also reaffirms its commitment to innovation and excellence. Reflecting the greatness of the architecture and the sophistication of the jewelry became our final destination.

The Result

Delivering a result that is even better than what the client expects is a fundamental part of our essence. Being decisive allowed us to tackle the complexity of the project, which involved an intervention in two parts: covering the display cases on the outside and using bases and backs as support for the jewellery on display on the inside.

We wanted to create useful displays with unique designs that would highlight the beauty and elegance of the new collection inspired by the architecture of one of its most emblematic buildings.

Each visit to the store had become an unforgettable experience.

"The design of a collection with history"

Sota, the building in Bilbao that reflects the essence of a brand. This year, the renowned jewelry store Suarez celebrates its 80th anniversary with a collection that promises to be a milestone in the industry. The inspiration behind this new line comes from the emblematic building, a classic architectural figure of the city where they were born. Built in the 1920s and recently renovated, the brand decided to capture the essence of the cornices, windows and columns to shape each of the pieces within its new collection and the shop windows had to be the perfect setting to present it.

The development

A tribute from the design

From the marketing department of the firm they gave us the idea, to pay tribute to the building that for them represents their essence. The design was based on that concept, the facade of the Sota building.

Based on several creative proposals, depending on the type of store, we offered the firm options that were finally merged into a 3D representation of the façade, taking care of every detail, thus optimizing the visual load.

The creative proposal was born from digitalized hand drawings and photomontages based on the reinterpretation of the building.

We had to simplify some shapes in order to carry out the subsequent production but always respecting the integral image of the façade.

In this project, the first step, that of measuring for the subsequent design and production, was crucial. The display cases and spaces to be decorated were measured, we created plans in AutoCAD and compositions in Illustrator with a unique design for each display case.

For the manufacture of the elements, laser-cut and engraved methacrylate was chosen as the main material. The compositions with lacquered methacrylates in different tones and the superposition of pieces allowed us to create the sensation of volume and the difficulty of displaying the jewellery without interfering in the decoration, but rather forming part of it, was overcome by the use of transparent materials and by a design adjusted to the production needs.

A total of 19 stores and 31 shop windows in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and San Sebastian made up the project. From the beginning, we carried out a reverse design exercise, we had to imagine the project assembled in order to be able to prepare the production files for the breakdown and assembly of the shop windows.

We used a special 3D program to ensure a perfect fit and flawless installation.

Each piece was perfectly identified and packed in custom-made boxes. This enabled us to achieve an effective and efficient installation in the various jewelry stores that Suarez has in Spain. We managed to carry out this project without any major setbacks, only challenges met.

Keys to a campaign that returns to its origins

01

Historical inspiration

The choice of the historic Sota Building was based on a great purpose: to transcend the merely aesthetic to turn its pieces into fragments of history marking the launch of this collection.

02

A project with essence

Hand drawings, photographs, Google Maps and visits to the streets that bring the Sota Building to life are just some of the elements that were used during the creative process to reflect the iconic façade in the brand’s shop windows.

03

Alignment with the brand

Sharing the same purpose allows for extraordinary results, and this project was the clearest example. Thanks to the perfect synchronicity with the brand, the common objective was met: creating shop windows with perfectly cared for details.

04

Precise production

The production process reflected the precision required by the project. With a high level of quality, a design was made a reality that involved thinking not only about the assembly, but also about the breakdown of each of the display cases. Each display case was created in pieces that would then be joined together like a puzzle, generating the desired volume and finish.

05

Custom-made packaging

Each design was unique, and the packaging of the pieces for assembly had to be unique as well. This process required the manufacture of custom-made boxes that perfectly protected each of the pieces that made up the display cases.

06

Impeccable installation

Despite the complexity involved in a project of this type, the installation was carried out without problems and in less time than expected by the client, thanks to the coordination between departments and teamwork.

Collaboration is the secret to success.

The outcome

A project marked by quality

Reflecting the essence of the brand and fitting in with the cultural and artistic value of the Sota Building was definitely an extraordinary experience, not only for the brand’s customers, who experience a different purchasing process when they go to the firm’s jewelry stores, but also for us who, throughout the design, production and installation process, realized that thanks to the synergy with the brand and the management between departments, we achieved results that left the customer satisfied.
